Eleanor Roosevelt: Close to Home is an overview of the inspirational life of Eleanor Roosevelt and highlights her dedication as champion of social justice and racial equality. The film introduces viewers to Val-Kill, the home of this extraordinary American who became a world leader in human rights and creator of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The remarkable modesty, independence and humanitarian leadership that made Eleanor Roosevelt the "First Lady of the World" are reflected in the Cottage's rooms, furnishings and surroundings. No other place allows visitors to connect with, rediscover and appreciate anew this woman whose influence is still so widely felt.

Forty years devoted to the study and practice of Tibetan Buddhism have made Matthieu Ricard, a courier between East and West. Scientist, Buddhist monk, French interpreter for the Dalai Lama, photographer and author of texts on Buddhism and meditation, Matthieu Ricard spends much of his time on humanitarian projects in India and Nepal. He regularly participates in scientific studies on the effect of meditation on the brain. He is a man of his time, putting his knowledge and his humanist philosophy for the well-being and vitality of the greatest number. Matthew devotes all of its copyrights and profits of his lectures to more than one hundred humanitarian projects he has created in the Himalayan regions  - clinics, schools, orphanages, retirement homes and care for the elderly, bridge construction, vocational training and safeguarding the Tibetan cultural heritage.

It’s human nature to lie; we all do it! From scandalous headlines to little white lies, this documentary feature film explores the human tendency to be dishonest and the complex impact dishonesty has on our lives and everyday society. It is inspired by the work of behavioral economist, Dan Ariely. Directed by the Oscar winning filmmaker Yael Melamede, the film interweaves personal stories, expert opinions, behavioral experiments and archival footage to reveal how and why people lie.


Following the screenings, there will be a discussion with special guest Dan Ariely, behavioral economist and the subject of the film
(Dis)Honesty - The Truth About Lies, moderated by Jasmina Bojic, Camera As Witness Program Director and Founder of the international documentary film festival UNAFF.
