The "West Wing" and the Special Collections exhibits program cordially invite you to the opening reception for After Hours: Creative Pursuits of Stanford University Libraries Staff in the Green Library Rotunda on Thursday, June 26 from 4:00–6:00 p.m.
The summer exhibit, which will run from June 26 through August 27 in the Bing Wing's Peterson Gallery and Munger Rotunda, is the result of last winter's call for entries of creative work. An anonymous selection committee of three library staff blind-reviewed close to a hundred submissions and chose the fifty or so pieces on display. The exhibit features works of art and craft by more than thirty people from all corners of the organization, in media as widely varied as the job titles of their creators. In addition to traditional fine art techniques of drawing, painting, printmaking, and photography, the show includes mixed media sculpture, stone carving, ceramics, collage, book arts, textiles, costuming, creative writing, and ikebana.
Join us on June 26 for food, drink, and a chance to view what some of our creative colleagues do in their free time!
