Over 250 MS&E alumni gathered at Stanford Huang Engineering Center on Friday October 23rd and Saturday October 24th to celebrate the 2015 MS&E Masters Reunion Weekend.
A short reception was held Friday night, allowing MS&E alumni to catch up with peers, reconnect with faculty, and meet current MS&E students.
The highlight of the weekend, however, was Saturday’s lecture and panel held by MS&E Professor Kathleen Eisenhardt based on her new book, Simple Rules: How to Thrive in a Complex World. Other esteemed alumni, including Rishi Garg, Julie Park, and Austin Hay, also joined in the conversation.
Garg is a former Twitter Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy, while Park is a Product Manager of Monetization at Pinterest and Hay is with the Partner Growth team at Branch Metrics.
The lecture and panel effectively prompted many event attendees to purchase Simple Rules following the discussion, during which the panelists elaborated on how to apply just a few simple rules to tackle the complexities of daily life.
Afterwards, brunch was provided in the Foyer, where alumni were once again brought together and given a chance to network with one another.
The event proved successful, as alumni and guests alike were seen beaming from ear-to-ear. These unforgettable moments were beautifully captured by local photographer Tamer Shabani.
One alumnus, Pawandeep Singh, even brought together all of his classmates from MS&E’s Class of 2013 to pose for a photograph. Peers from Class of 2011 and 2012 also joined in on the fun.
