3D printed model generated from a Computed Tomography (CT) scan of a 92 year old patient who had an aortic aneurysm repaired by interventional radiologists using a custom made “stent-graft” to create a new inner wall for the aorta and connecting renal arteries. Printing 3D models improves communication between radiologists, technologists, surgeons and patients and their families.

3DQ Lab technologists are able to reliably generate the information required for useful 3D prints. Image 1 demonstrates isolating the vessel border (dark green outline) in multiple views of the CT scans. Image 2 demonstrates isolating the stent-graft itself (light green). Image 3 demonstrates the segmentation of the vessels together with the stent graft and allows a user to preview a 3D print. Image 4 is a photograph of the 3D printed model.
