How to Join the Homeland Security Information Network (HSIN)

How to Join HSINHSIN access is based on nomination and acceptance into one or more Communities of Interest (COIs). If you are not currently a HSIN user, please send an email to HSIN.Outreach@hq.dhs.gov to request access to HSIN and include the information listed below. The application will be reviewed by the sponsoring organization of the requested COI.

  • First and last name
  • Valid email address
  • Requested COI
  • Reason for access

After your need for HSIN access has been verified and you have been nominated and invited to join HSIN, you will be asked to complete your registration and the identity proofing process. Finally, your account information is reviewed by a validator who will confirm your access to HSIN and the requested COIs. You will be notified via email when your account has been approved.

Current HSIN Users

If you are a current HSIN user and would like access to an additional COI, you can visit the Site Directory, which is located in the HSIN Toolbox found in the upper right-hand corner of any HSIN screen. The Site Directory lists all active COIs on HSIN including their requirements for access as well as a Request Access link. This is the easiest way for current HSIN users to request access to other COIs.
