STANFORD, Calif.- Stanford posted a one-two finish today at the McIntyre Team Race.
Stanford, which hosted the event, fielded two teams. The Cardinal No. 1 team finished a perfect 8-0, while the Cardinal No. 2 team racked up seven wins with its only loss coming at the hands of Cardinal #1.
The Cardinal No. 1 team was skippered by Antoine Screve, Will La Dow, Axel Sly, and Reinier Eenkema Van Dijk, with a crew consisting of J.P. Cannistraro, Samantha Steele, Cally Tullo, and Mary Vangelos.
The Cardinal No. 2 team included skippers Lily Katz, Julia Lambert, and Maeve White, with a crew consisting of Haley Fox, Yuki Yoshiyasu, Sarah Placek, and Sarah Lucas.
Finishing behind the Cardinal in a tie for third place were UC Santa Barbara and California Maritime Academy, both of whom finished with 5-3 records.
Teams were treated to sunny conditions, but there was not a stable enough breeze to complete more than the round robin after the scheduled two days of competition.
The Cardinal returns to action next week at the Beach Gold/Silver Regatta in Long Beach, Calif.
