“Before showing The Guide to my APES class, I wanted them to have some perspective, so I handed out some demographic information about Mozambique, and asked them to write their thoughts on a few topics covered in the film: their perception of the opportunities for young people in a developing country, why people poach animals, and how the environment has influenced their life choices. I also asked them to name their favorite animal. The length of the short film (about 35 minutes) is ideal for allowing time for short discussions before and after viewing.” -- David Hong, Diamond Bar High School, CA
