Susan Weinstein is the Assistant Vice President for Business Development, reporting to the Vice President for Business Affairs and Chief Financial Officer.
In this role, Susan evaluates and recommends investment by the President’s Venture Fund in early stage companies which have licensed Stanford technology, manages trademark licensing and other commercial uses of Stanford’s name and emblems, oversees the operator of the Stanford Bookstore, and handles other strategic campus initiatives. Susan began her career at Stanford in 2001 as the Director of Business Development and served as the University Privacy Officer from 2003-2012.
Prior to joining Stanford, Susan served as a Vice President at Wells Fargo. During her time at Wells Fargo Susan managed business development and press relations for the team that started Wells Fargo’s Internet Bank. In addition, Susan served as the head of investor relations for Wells Fargo & Co. Susan also handled asset-based project financing in Bank of America’s Investment Banking Group, and began her career practicing corporate law for Fortune 100 and venture-backed companies.
Susan has an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, a JD from the University of Washington and a BA from Stanford University.
