These abilities include several specific skills and outcomes that are recognized by ABET as important for professional engineers. These outcomes are enumerated here.

Graduate Program Educational Objectives

The purpose of the master’s program is to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary for a professional career or doctoral studies. Students are prepared through course work with specialization within one of three broad areas including the built environment, atmosphere and energy, and environmental and water studies. All graduate students must master the analytical, quantitative and interpretive skills necessary for successful leadership in their chosen field.

The PhD is conferred upon candidates who have demonstrated substantial scholarship and the ability to conduct independent research. Through course work and guided research, the program prepares students to make original contributions in Civil and Environmental Engineering and related fields.
