Shaun McGrath, Administrator for EPA's Region 8 Office in Denver
Shaun comes to EPA Region 8 from Wheelhouse Associates, where he co-led the policy, program and technology integration company’s efforts to help local state and national governments advance clean energy and environmental goals. Before joining Wheelhouse Associates, he served as the executive director of the American Solar Energy Society in Boulder.
His private-sector experience is further strengthened by his considerable experience in the public sector, where he has spent time working with all levels of government. Shaun began his career assisting Kansas companies interested in exporting their products and services to Europe as the trade manager for the Kansas Department of Commerce European Office. Later he served on the Boulder City Council for four years, and was elected as mayor of Boulder in 2007.
He spent more than a decade working with the Western Governors’ Association, serving as a program director on a number of environmental issues including climate adaptation, water and drought. Shaun has also worked on the federal level as deputy director of White House intergovernmental affairs, where he was the principal liaison and point of contact in the White House for the nation’s governors.
