yeah, im moving to dailymotion for my own videos. 50 uploaded, 40 more to go. All I wanted was a video sharing site where I could interact with people WITHOUT facebook G+ or twitter.  A self contained website not trying to get inside my private life

+aussielinux  Everyone has to start somewhere. If 'script-kiddies' just make stuff by plugging modules into an arduino board and copy-pasta'ing code from example sketches then good for them.
Arduino is a great stepping stone from software to hardware. The great thing about arduino is that all the low level AVR stuff is still there if you need it. Sometimes there is no need to reinvent the wheel and high level programming works just fine.
Anyone who dismisses the arduino platform as a toy either hasn't used it or is fearful that the 'script-kiddies' will one day take their job.

+Noor ulhadi If you just need to desolder it you can break the jack up with pliers and then desolder the pins individually.
