The First-Year Experience
Virtually all Stanford freshmen live on campus and all are matched with two advisors—a Pre-Major Advisor and an Academic Director based in their residence.
Student Organizations
More than 650 student organizations—including more than 70 service, 100 arts, and 30 Greek-letter organizations—are recognized on campus, ranging from KZSU 90.1FM to the Stanford Bhangra Team.
Diversity at Stanford
Among the many measures of diversity, more than 50% of Stanford students are students of color and 15% of freshmen are among the first in their families to attend college—making it among the most diverse colleges in America.
Housing & Dining
Stanford's small-house system creates living and learning communities where housing is guaranteed to entering freshmen for all four years in one of nearly 80 residences. All freshmen live and dine on campus.
Athletics & Recreation
Stanford is like no other environment for the college sports fan. With 35 varsity sports, more than 36 club sports, dozens of club teams and intramural opportunities, cheering for the Cardinal is a year-round experience.
