Trustees address a range of issues

During its recent meeting, the Board of Trustees set tuition, approved construction projects, discussed the Year of Learning and investment responsibility and endorsed the Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program.

  • Tuition set for 2016-17

    The Board of Trustees has approved a 3.5 percent increase in undergraduate tuition for next year and has reaffirmed its commitment to need-blind admission and a generous need-based financial aid program.

  • Marc Tessier-Lavigne named Stanford's next president

    The Stanford trustees announced that Marc Tessier-Lavigne, president of The Rockefeller University and former Stanford faculty member, will be the 11th president. He will assume the role Sept. 1.

  • Stanford launches Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program

    Stanford announces a graduate-level scholarship program to prepare a new generation of leaders to address complex global challenges. The program is named for alumnus Phil Knight who is contributing $400 million, and President John Hennessy, who will serve as the inaugural faculty director after he steps down as president this summer.

  • Stanford releases fundraising results

    In 2014–15, gifts to Stanford included a significant collection of art and support for the university's two hospitals.
