Prior to Stanford, Breslin worked at Georgetown for eight years, first as the director of athletic events and then as assistant athletic director for events and operations. The latter role covered Breslin’s final six-plus years. He was also a sport administrator for the men’s lacrosse, women’s lacrosse and track and field programs.

Breslin worked at Springfield College while completing his master's degree in athletic administration, serving as a graduate assistant lacrosse coach and events coordinator. He got his start in college athletics at his alma mater, Hobart, where he graduated from in 2001 with a degree in history. Following graduation, Breslin served as an assistant lacrosse coach and game day manager.

As a student-athlete at Hobart, Breslin was a four-year letterwinner and senior captain. He was a 2001 All-America selection and was the Patriot League Player of the Year. He was also a member of the school’s football team.

Breslin resides in Palo Alto with his wife, Megan, son, Patrick, and daughter, Annie.
