Manuel Rivera

Manuel Rivera has a passion for empowering communities through technology. His expertise spans the gamut from agile methods, to managing cross-functional teams, and interaction design. He has a MS in Telecommunication Engineering from the Technical School of Madrid (UPM) with a specialty in Biomedical Engineering. Manuel has also studied the social impact of the ‘digital divide’ at UC Berkeley.

He co-founded CareMessage, a Bay Area mobile health non-profit startup backed by Y Combinator, The David and Lucile Packard Foundation, Pershing Square, and Google Impact Awards. Manuel led all the product management efforts of CareMessage's services.

With experience as a product manager for mobile solutions, a technology researcher in the online gaming industry, and a producer in computer animation, Manuel joins Stanford University School of Medicine eager to make a difference in the Digital Health space.
