A vital new center for regional collaboration is taking shape in San Francisco’s burgeoning Rincon Hill neighborhood.
MTC’s Bay Area Headquarters Authority has redeveloped a former World War II tank assembly plant-turned-U.S. Postal Service facility to serve as the headquarters of MTC, the Association of Bay Area Governments and the Bay Area Air Quality Management District.
Known as the Bay Area Metro Center, the renovated regional agency headquarters building will open on Monday, May 23, 2016. The Bay Area Metro Center will include ample public spaces and public amenities, including:
- Auditorium/board room
- Café
- Bicycle parking
- And more
The building’s address — 375 Beale Street — is a nod to Senate Bill 375, the landmark state law passed to foster a more sustainable future for California’s metro areas.
