Harbaugh wins Woody Hayes Award for top coach

Head coach Jim Harbaugh, who led the Cardinal to an 11-win regular season and is heading to the Discover Orange Bowl on Jan. 3, was named the 2010 Woody Hayes Award winner as the top college football coach in the nation.

Hoover exhibit revisits the massacre at Katyn

In 1940, Soviet operatives executed 22,000 Polish soldiers and civilian elites in what is called the Katyn Forest Massacre. An exhibition at the Hoover Institution, Katyn: Massacre, Politics, Morality, explores the atrocity and the decades of Soviet cover-up that followed.

At its Dec. 2 meeting, the Faculty Senate approved a trial plan to allow MD postdoctoral fellows to serve as principal investigators on federal grants. Harry Greenberg, senior associate dean for research at the School of Medicine, left, presented the plan to the senate.
