Count on this: Researchers get better access to census data

Thanks to an arrangement with the Institute for Research in the Social Sciences, a Secure Data Center opening on campus will allow researchers access to an ocean of confidential information accumulated by the Census Bureau, the National Center for Health Statistics and other agencies.

Stanford signs Google Book Search agreement

Stanford has affirmed its support for the recently amended Google Book Search settlement agreement, which is now before a federal court, by expanding its earlier agreement with Google Inc. to digitize its library materials. The agreement expands digital scanning of millions of Stanford library books.
