Trustees welcome four new members; bid farewell to six

Four new members will join the Board of Trustees this fall, including one who earned a Stanford doctorate in molecular biology and three who earned MBAs at the Graduate School of Business. Leaving are William Barnum, Ying-Ying Goh, Phil Satre, Ross Walker, Mary Cranston and John Scully.

Stanford Summer Theater presents Homer-inspired lineup

Stanford Summer Theater returns to the taproot of Western civilization with a Homer-inspired lineup. The Wanderings of Odysseus opens July 22 and continues through Aug. 15. But tonight, July 12, take in the first of a Monday night film series with Troy at 7 p.m. in Annenberg Auditorium.

Jonathan Dorfan to lead new graduate university in Japan

Jonathan Dorfan has been named president-elect of the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University. Dorfan is a SLAC professor of physics and former director of the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory.

Put your dog on a leash—and don't dive—at Lake Lagunita

New signs have been posted around Lake Lagunita reiterating and clarifying rules for using the site. First on the list: leashing dogs. The signs remind visitors that the area's primary purpose is for flood control and as a breeding habitat for endangered species.
