Shelley, Stanford's autonomous, self-driving car, held a press conference last week with representatives from several news networks. Shelley did her talking on the track, turning laps at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds in San Jose.

Cardinal women breeze past Georgia en route to Elite Eight

The women's basketball team rolled into the Elite Eight with a 73-36 rout of Georgia Saturday. Jayne Appel scored 17 points and five rebounds, despite a tender ankle. Kayla Pedersen added 13 points and 15 rebounds, and Nnemkadi Ogwumike had 11 points and 11 rebounds. They play Xavier tonight.

Next freshman class chosen from largest applicant pool ever

Stanford has sent acceptance letters to high school students around the world, inviting them to join the Class of 2014. The university has offered admission to 2,300 applicants, including 753 who were accepted through early action, the Office of Undergraduate Admission announced today.
