Earthquake expert compares damage in Haiti, Chile

During recent trips to study the damage in Haiti and Chile, Stanford earthquake engineering expert Eduardo Miranda witnessed firsthand the lesson of those disasters: What engineers already know about how to build for earthquakes can save hundreds of thousands of lives.

Coupa Café opens library kiosk

The long-awaited Stanford Libraries' kiosk has opened its shutters. Coupa Café is serving a variety of food items as well as organic coffees, teas and other beverages. Located between Green and Meyer libraries, the café will have extensive hours of service, including evenings and weekends.
