The Faculty Senate heard reports on graduate education and on the faculty retirement incentive program. A motion to add the director of the Hoover Institution to its roster of ex officio members was passed. Members also thanked the person whose donation put construction of a new child care center back on the "to do" list.

- Memorial service for George Dekker: A service to commemorate the life of George Dekker, the English Department scholar and administrator who died in February, is scheduled for Thursday, May 6, at 4 p.m. in Memorial Church.
