Bing Concert Hall construction to begin this month

Stanford will soon break ground on an acoustically state-of-the-art concert hall, which is slated for completion in summer 2012. The 844-seat Bing Concert Hall has been designed for a wide range of musical performances, from small chamber ensembles to full-sized orchestras.

Stanford magazine: Tales from the lake

The May/June issue of Stanford magazine, published by the Stanford Alumni Association, is out with a feature on Lake Lagunita. Created as a reservoir, Lake Lag is now dry most of the time. Alumni remember the lake as it once was and share memories of pranks, parties and plain old fun.

Satz and Reich talk about Hope House Scholars Program

On Wednesday, Provost John Etchemendy presented the Roland Volunteer Service Prize to Debra Satz and Rob Reich at a Palo Alto luncheon. Satz and Reich founded the Hope House Scholars Program, which offers liberal arts courses to residents of a drug and alcohol treatment center.
