Knight Management Center Open House set for Friday

The campus community is invited to celebrate the opening of the Knight Management Center at the Graduate School of Business on April 29 from 2 to 5 p.m. Festivities will include food, music by the Stanford Band and campus a cappella groups and a debate on leadership featuring GSB faculty.

Racial disparity persists in heart-transplant mortality rates

African-American heart transplant patients have had persistently higher mortality rates than white patients, but why remains a mystery. Vincent Liu, a postdoctoral scholar in pulmonary and critical care medicine, is lead author of a School of Medicine study that explores this disparity.

  • Crime alert: On Sunday, April 24, at around 3:50 a.m., a graduate student awoke to find an intruder in the living room of his apartment at the Munger Graduate Residence. The victim confronted the intruder, who then fled the residence with a suitcase filled with the victim's property. The victim's suitcase was later recovered with his property still in it. Stanford police strongly encourage people to lock their doors and windows and to notify them immediately of suspicious activity. Anyone with information related to this crime is urged to call the Stanford Police at 329-2413. The full alert is on the Department of Public Safety website.
