University to replace Health Net and PacifiCare in 2012

In a move aimed at curbing rising health care costs while continuing to provide employees access to high quality health care, Stanford will replace Health Net and PacifiCare with a new medical plan in 2012. Connie Wolf, director and CEO of San Francisco's Contemporary Jewish Museum, brought a national profile to a little-known institution. Now she'll have a chance to bring the same record of innovation to the Iris & B. Gerald Cantor Center for Visual Arts when she becomes its new director on Jan. 1, 2012.

Re-inventing America's urban water infrastructure

The National Science Foundation has selected a multi-university team from Stanford, UC-Berkeley, Colorado School of Mines and New Mexico State to implement an Engineering Research Center with the goal of re-inventing America's aging and inadequate water infrastructure.
