East Palo Alto middle-schoolers get the Stanford treatment

The East Palo Alto Stanford Academy is a rigorous, two-year academic support program for seventh- and eighth-graders. Funded by the Haas Center and staffed largely by Stanford undergrads, the program offers participants valuable exposure to college life and role models.

The Pacific-12 Conference has teamed up with ESPN and FOX Sports Media Group on a landmark agreement for a broadcast and national cable television package that extends and expands long-time partnerships with both media companies. Athletics Director Bob Bowlsby talks about the deal.

  • Free Monday night film festival: Stanford Summer Theater's Memory Play Festival includes a free film series on the theme of memory. The films, followed by a discussion, are shown on Monday nights from 7-10 p.m. in Annenberg Auditorium through Aug. 8. Tonight's offering? La Guerre est finie.
