Students, alumni help each other with startup dreams

StartX, a startup accelerator reserved for Stanford-affiliated entrepreneurs and run by Stanford Student Enterprises, is on the tail end of its first full-time summer session at new AOL-provided offices. On Sept. 8, it will unveil its 12 newest companies before a Silicon Valley audience.

Athletics launches video network with Google, YouTube

Stanford Athletics, Google Inc. and YouTube have reached a partnership agreement that includes the launch of the Cardinal Channel, an athletics video sports network that will produce original video content, such as interviews and features, covering all 35 of Stanford's varsity athletic programs.

Statewide initiatives may result from 'deliberative polling'

In June, a sample of California voters gathered in Torrance for the first-ever statewide "deliberative poll." Stanford communication Professor James Fishkin, left, spearheaded the effort and hopes that the results of the poll will find their way onto the November ballot.
