Researchers' cooling glove 'better than steroids'

The temperature-regulation research of Stanford biologists H. Craig Heller and Dennis Grahn has led to a device that rapidly cools body temperature, greatly improves exercise recovery, and could help explain why muscles get tired.

Obama's immigration reform initiative could reduce crime

Looking at the effects of a similar immigration policy from 1986, Stanford PhD candidate Scott R. Baker calculates that the legalization of undocumented workers under the new policy could lead to 50,000 fewer crimes per year nationwide.

PG&E begins work on natural gas pipeline replacement

PG&E has begun preparations to replace a gas pipeline, sections of which run along Sand Hill Road in Menlo Park and Junipero Serra Boulevard on Stanford lands. The project, which was originally scheduled to begin in late July, is now scheduled to be completed by the end of November.
