The Stanford Center at Peking University opened Wednesday, drawing hundreds of academics, donors and government officials. Stanford is the first American university to construct a building for its use on a major Chinese campus.

Nomination deadline for Sterling Award: The nominations deadline is March 30 for the Alumni Association's J. E. Wallace Sterling Award and the Class of '12 Award of Excellence. The Sterling Award recognizes a graduating senior whose undergraduate leadership and volunteer activities have made the largest impact on the Stanford community. The Class of '12 Award of Excellence recognizes graduating seniors who have demonstrated a sincere commitment to the university through involvement, leadership and extraordinary Stanford spirit.
