Stanford senior, grad student named U.S. Rhodes scholars

Margaret C. Hayden, a Stanford senior from Maine, and Rachel Kolb, a 2012 Stanford graduate from New Mexico who currently is earning her master’s in English at Stanford, are among the 32 newly minted Rhodes Scholars from the U.S.

Researchers seek to advance thought-controlled cursors

Stanford researchers have designed the fastest, most accurate mathematical algorithm yet for brain-implantable prosthetic systems that can help disabled people maneuver computer cursors with their thoughts.

  • MediaX Conference: MediaX, a program that fosters collaboration between businesses and Stanford scholars to study new ways for people and technology to intersect, is hosting a daylong conference Jan. 8. The event, which will take place at the Knight Management Center, will feature presentations, panels, demos and exhibits.
