Stanford Class of 2015 leaves a box of memories

A message in a bottle, one pinned to a necktie, one written on a bag of noodles. These and many other items form a collective memory of the Class of 2015, which will be marked with a shiny bronze plaque. In a sealed metal box, measuring less than a cubic foot, graduating seniors will lay to rest memories, aspirations and, in a few cases, letters to themselves.

A time capsule, buried beneath the commemorative marker near the west gate of the Main Quad will be the resting place for items that students contributed during the Senior Toast last week.

The Class Plaque and time capsule are Stanford traditions that date back to 1892. University Photographer Linda Cicero captured a glimpse of the items, which were collected by the Alumni Association, before their burial, which is scheduled to take place, Friday, June 12.
