Redwood City Campus

The Redwood City campus of Stanford University, scheduled to open in 2019, will provide office space for more than 2,300 employees and include a fitness center and pool. (ZGF Architects)

The Board of Trustees has approved plans for the contemporary Stanford in Redwood City campus, an amenity-filled workplace and the university's first significant expansion beyond the main campus.

 


New Head of Miller Library

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Amanda Whitmire as the new Head of Miller Library at the Hopkins Marine Station, Stanford’s research outpost on the coast at Pacific Grove, California. Amanda replaces Dr. Joseph Wible (Joe) who retired after over three decades of service with Stanford Libraries.

Cartographic Technology Specialist, Deardra Fuzzell, recounts the challenges and innovative processes of digitizing an 11' x 17' Ōmi Kuni-ezu 近江國絵圖 Japanese Tax Map from 1837.

 


Digital Yiddish Theatre Project

A discovery by Zachary Baker, assistant university librarian for collection development in the humanities & social sciences, revealed the close connections between two great stars of the Yiddish theatre, Boris Thomashefsky (1866-1939) and Aaron Lebedeff (1873-1960).
