Johanna Wee

Johanna Wee is the Sales and Marketing Manager for the Stanford Program on International and Cross-Cultural Education (SPICE). In addition to this role, she also manages the development of web-based learning tools and environments for SPICE. Prior to joining SPICE in 2005, Johanna was the Communications Coordinator for the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies, a Market Researcher for The NASDAQ Stock Market, and a teacher on the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program in Nara, Japan.

Johanna's academic interests lie in web-based learning environments and educational market research. She received her Bachelor of Science in Finance from Santa Clara University and her Masters of Arts in Education with a concentration in Instructional Technologies from San Francisco State University.

Johanna has contributed articles to The International Educator, and she has developed or co-developed the following web- and text-based activities for SPICE:

She also coordinated and developed the course content for the Sejong Korean Scholars Program, Stanford e-Japan, and Stanford e-China—distance education courses for high school students in the U.S., Japan, and China.

Johanna has presented teacher seminars at Teachers College, Columbia University; National Consortium for Teaching about Asia, Stanford University; Partnership for After School Education; the European Council for International Schools (ECIS); and the East Asia Regional Council of Schools (EARCOS). She has represented SPICE at the following conferences: the National Council for Social Studies in Kansas City, San Diego, Houston, and Seattle; International Baccalaureate of the Americas in New Orleans; Asia Society’s Partnership for Global Learning in Washington D.C. and New York City; ECIS in Nice, Madrid, Lisbon and Amsterdam; and EARCOS in Manila, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, and Kota Kinabalu.

She is currently a board member of the Japan Exchange and Teaching Alumni Association of Northern California.
