HUMAN RIGHTS

The Summer Intensive in Human Rights will continue the discussion of international human rights in the 21st century, considering broad perspectives on what constitutes human rights in an increasingly diverse and global society. In addition to selecting from the courses listed below, students will have the opportunity to attend one or more evening events, including public lectures and film viewings – all offered as part of the Summer Human Rights Program.

In order to receive a Certificate of Completion in Human Rights, students must enroll in at least two courses selected from the following list. All courses must be completed with a letter grade of B or above.


INTERNATIONAL MANAGEMENT

The Summer Intensive in International Management will consider aspects of business development such as economics, decision-making, and money and banking. Students will be encouraged to think about industry in a global context.

In order to receive a Certificate of Completion in International Management, students must enroll in at least two courses selected from the following list. All courses must be completed with a letter grade of B or above.


WATER MANAGEMENT

Extraordinary leadership and expertise is needed to address the world’s critical environmental conditions – now and in the future. The Stanford Environmental & Water Studies Summer Program (SEWSS) is an expansive eight-week experience that exposes students and professionals to the cutting-edge knowledge and shifting paradigms in environmental science and engineering. The Summer curriculum comprises both introductory and advanced courses that challenge critical thinking and encourage interactive discussion to explore complex water and environmental problems, technologies, processes, and solutions. Before enrolling in any of these courses, students must submit a SEWSS Registration Form. For further information, visit the Stanford Environmental & Water Studies Summer Program website.

In order to receive a SEWSS Program Certificate, students must enroll in at least three courses selected from the following list. All courses must be completed with a letter grade of C- or above. FOREIGN LANGUAGES

The ability to master a foreign language is increasingly important in our multi-cultural, multi-national world. Stanford offers a number of intensive language courses designed to provide a full year of college level language instruction in an eight-week program of study.

In order to receive a Certificate of Completion in Foreign Languages, students must complete the full 15-unit summer offering in one of the languages listed below. All courses must be completed with a letter grade of B or above.


TECHNOLOGY & INNOVATION

The Summer Intensive in Technology & Innovation provides students with an opportunity to immerse themselves in the exploration of technological advances and cutting edge innovation. Students will build on their interest by taking courses in technology entrepreneurship, management science, and information technology.

In order to receive a Certificate of Completion in Technology & Innovation, students must enroll in at least two courses selected from the following list. All courses must be completed with a letter grade of B or above.
