2:00PM Eleanor Roosevelt: Close To Home (16 minutes) USA Director/Producer: Anne Makepeace An overview of the inspirational life of Eleanor Roosevelt which highlights her dedication as champion of social justice and racial equality.
2:30PM Brave Miss World (88 minutes) Israel/USA
Director: Cecilia Peck; Producers: Cecilia Peck, Inbal Lessner, Motty Reif Miss Israel Linor Abargil was abducted, stabbed and raped in Milan, Italy at age eighteen. The film explores the trauma of sexual assault through Cecilia’s journey from teenage rape victim to Miss World to empowered lawyer and activist.
Following the screening, there will be a discussion with the Award Winning filmmaker Cecilia Peck moderated by Jasmina Bojic, Camera As Witness Program Director and Founder of the international documentary film festival UNAFF.
4:30PM Running from Crazy (101 minutes) USA Director: Barbara Kopple; Producers: Barbara Kopple, David Cassidy Hailed as one of the most distinguished families in American literature, the Hemingways have always exposed both their bright brilliance and their harrowing secrets. The film presents Mariel Hemingway, a granddaughter of the legendary writer Ernest, as she explores her family's disturbing history of mental illness and suicide.
