Stanford Community Farm

The Stanford Community Farm

The Stanford Community Farm was a Stanford faculty, staff, and student operated organic garden that was located on the west side of the Stanford campus and that existed to educate the Stanford community about organic gardening techniques and to provide an outlet for recreational gardening.

The one-acre farm included a fruit orchard, numerous communally-managed student gardens, and many individual gardens maintained by the Farm's various members.

As of sundown on November 9, 2014, the Stanford Community Farm ceased to exist. It was bulldozed to make way for expansion of the Athletic Department's Siebel Varsity Golf Training Complex. Despite being a 30-acre facility, the Athletic Department insisted on acquiring the approximate 1.3 acre Community Farm parcel for addition to the Siebel Varsity Golf Training Complex thus forcing closure of the Community Farm.

All who gardened at the Stanford Community Farm mourn this action and its end...
