Putting Conservation into Practice: Adaptive management and conservation biology

Get your hands dirty for conservation! California ecosystems and wildlife populations are threatened by habitat loss and invasive species. On the Preserve the Conservancy has the opportunity to restore degraded habitat and support imperiled species. Assist the Conservancy’s scientists in monitoring, researching and restoring the plants, animals and landscapes of the Preserve.

Intern will participate in:

  • Wildlife population sampling and monitoring
  • Tricolored blackbird trapping and banding
  • Wildlife surveys through Citizen Science camera trapping
  • Habitat management and planning
  • Quantitative botanical surveys
  • Sudden oak death forest management
  • GIS mapping of activities and resources
  • Data management and analysis
