Recommended Binational Phosphorus Targets to Combat Lake Erie Algal Blooms

GLWQA requires the United States and Canada to reduce excess phosphorus levels that contribute to algal blooms in Lake Erie. In 2013, a binational workgroup of subject matter experts from federal, state, provincial and local governments, academia and nongovernmental organizations was convened to develop recommended phosphorus reduction targets for Lake Erie.

Public input on the recommended Lake Erie phosphorus reduction targets can be submitted at Recommended Binational Phosphorus Targets.
