Tracy Duchac was promoted to Associate Head Coach of the Stanford women's swimming and diving team in 2014 after serving two years as an assistant. The 2015-16 season marks her fourth on The Farm under head coach Greg Meehan.
The Cardinal has progressed from an eighth-place showing at the NCAA meet during Duchac's first season to a second-place effort in 2014 and a third-place shwoing in 2015.
Last year, Simone Manuel was a seven-time All-American, including wins in the 50 and 100 free and relay victories in the 400 free relay and 400 medley relay. The freshman captured Stanford's first sprint freestyle win since 1999. Sarah Haase won the 100 breaststroke as part of five total Stanford wins.
Duchac was instrumental in Stanford’s second-place showing at the 2014 NCAA Championships. The Cardinal won four of five relays, Maya DiRado swept the IM races and Felicia Lee won the 100 fly, as Stanford outpaced expectations on its way to its best NCAA showing since 2010.
In her first season with the program, Stanford set four school and three Avery Aquatic Center records to help highlight the 2012-13 season. The Cardinal won the Pac-12 Conference Championships for the third time in four seasons, holding off second-place USC by 21 points. On top of an eighth-place finish at the NCAA Championships, nine student-athletes combined for 30 All-American honors.
In addition to her success with current student-athletes, Duchac has been vital in the recruiting process. Her efforts helped Stanford sign what many considered to be the No. 1 class in 2013-14, which was highlighted by 2014-15 U.S. National Team member Simone Manuel.
Duchac, who earned honorable mention All-America honors as a swimmer at Purdue, helped Arizona to a fifth-place finish at the 2012 NCAA Championships, the program's ninth consecutive NCAA finish in the top five.
Prior to her one-year stint at Arizona, Duchac served as the women's assistant coach at Texas A&M for five seasons.
During her tenure at Texas A&M, the women's team posted a program-best five top-10 finishes at the NCAA Championships, including a fourth-place showing in 2008.
In 2009, Duchac mentored Texas A&M's first two NCAA individual national champions in Julia Wilkinson and Alia Atkinson.
Duchac also served as a volunteer assistant coach at Purdue and was instrumental in the Boilermakers setting nine team records, while posting a top-25 finish at the 2006 NCAA Championships. Duchac also helped coach a club team with Boilermaker Aquatics.
A 2006 graduate of Purdue, Duchac earned a bachelor's degree in health promotion. Duchac is a former College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) All-Academic honoree and a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.
Duchac became the first Boilermaker in program history to break the 23-second barrier in the 50 freestyle. She made a trio of appearances at the NCAA Championships (2003, 2004, 2005) and earned honorable mention All-American honors in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays. Duchac had a hand in recording school records in each of those events.
A native of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., Duchac is married to Adam Slusser.
