DURHAM, N.H. – Alex McCawley continued her blistering offensive start to the season Sunday, scoring her team-leading fifth goal and third game-winner to lift No. 12 Stanford to a 1-0 victory at New Hampshire.

The senior continued to score big goals in important moments this season with her third game-winning goal of the year – this time in overtime. With the game knotted at 0-0 after regulation, McCawley received a pass from Fran Tew and fired a low shot from the top of the circle at 74:54 that found the back of the cage and kept the Cardinal’s perfect record intact.

Stanford (5-0, 0-0 NorPac) controlled a majority of the game, reeling off 11 shots with seven on target. The Cardinal defense continued to shine, limiting New Hampshire (1-3, 0-0 America East) to three shots and one penalty corner.

Dulcie Davies made two saves while the Cardinal backline did well to prevent the Wildcats from sustained pressure and opportunities in front of the goal. It is Stanford’s fourth shutout in five games and third consecutive. The Cardinal has not allowed a goal in 256:06.

New Hampshire goalkeeper Carlie Tarbell did well to keep her team in the game, making six saves in regulation.

Stanford’s win caps an impressive weekend on the road in which it outscored its three opponents a combined 5-0 and outshot the opposition 36-12.

Stanford returns to The Farm next week for its longest homestand on the season. The Cardinal will play four games at the Varsity Turf over the next two weeks beginning Friday against No. 20 Iowa at 12 p.m. (PT), followed by a Sunday matchup at 11 a.m. against Albany. Both games will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks.
