The Opening Tip
Stanford (4-1, 0-0 Pac-12) plays its first true road game of the season on Sunday, Nov. 30, visiting DePaul (2-1, 0-0 BIG EAST). The Cardinal’s six games in November are its fewest since also playing six in the season’s first month back in 2010. Stanford has won four of its first five contests, including an 84-47 rout of Delaware on Tuesday. The Cardinal is wrapping up a colorful stretch that includes consecutive games against the Blue Devils, Blue Hens and Blue Demons.

Media Memo
Sunday’s game can be heard on KNBR 1050 AM, with Scott Reiss handling play-by-play responsibilities. The contest will be televised on Fox Sports 1, with Eric Collins (play-by-play) and Stephen Bardo (analyst) describing the action.

Looking Ahead
A 12-day hiatus follows, as Stanford begins its traditional extended break for final exams. The Cardinal returns to action on Saturday, Dec. 13, hosting Denver in the first of back-to-back home games at Maples Pavilion.

Scouting DePaul
DePaul (2-1, 0-0 BIG EAST) is coming off an 86-74 loss to Lehigh on Wednesday night. The Blue Demons open with five straight home games ... The Blue Demons are averaging 75.3 points and 33.0 rebounds while shooting 44.7 percent from the field but only 31.9 percent from the foul line ... Be sure to watch: Myke Henry (16.0 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 19-35 FG), Billy Garrett (14.0 ppg, 11-28 FG, 15-18 FT), Tommy Hamilton (12.7 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 10-18 FT) ... DePaul finished 12-21 overall and 3-15 in the BIG EAST last season. The Blue Demons are seeking their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2004 ... Stanford is 2-1 all-time against DePaul, with the most recent meeting resulting in an 81-74 overtime victory back on Nov. 28, 2010 at the 76 Classic in Anaheim, Calif.

Cashing In At The Charity Stripe
Stanford has placed an added emphasis this season on getting to the foul line, with a targeted goal of 25 free throw attempts per game. The Cardinal has accomplished that through its first five games, converting 95-127 (74.8 percent) as a team. In an 84-73 victory over South Dakota two weeks ago, Stanford’s 38 made free throws and 46 free throw attempts were the most since the Cardinal converted 40-47 in a victory over Cal State Northridge back on Nov. 18, 2008.

Coaches vs. Cancer Classic Runner-Up Finish
Stanford dropped a 70-59 decision to No. 4/3 Duke in the championship game of the Northwestern Mutual Coaches vs. Cancer Classic. The Cardinal was competing in its sixth preseason tournament under head coach Johnny Dawkins and has compiled a 13-9 record in such games. In the semifinals, the Cardinal routed UNLV 89-60 thanks to a commanding edge on the boards and 14 three-pointers. However, Stanford was limited to 36.1 percent shooting the following night against Duke. Chasson Randle was named to the All-Tournament team, averaging 20.0 points while shooting 14-27 overall in Brooklyn.
