The Opening Tip
Stanford (13-5, 4-2 Pac-12) aims for a split of this week’s homestand, hosting Arizona State (10-9, 4-2 Pac-12) on Saturday at 9 p.m. PT. Playing its third game over an eight-day stretch, the Cardinal is looking to bounce back from an 89-82 loss to Arizona.

Scouting Arizona State
Arizona State (10-9, 2-4 Pac-12) is coming off a 79-44 rout of California on Thursday ... After losing its first four conference games, Arizona State has won back-to-back games ... The Sun Devils, who own notable non-conference victories over UNLV and Harvard, are averaging 69.6 points and 33.8 rebounds while shooting 45.5 percent overall. However, a 14.7 turnovers per game clip has slowed their progress ... Look out for: Shaquielle McKissic (10.6 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 46.0 percent FG), Gerry Blakes (10.6 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 86.0 percent FT), Eric Jacobsen (10.0 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 66.0 percent FG).

Stanford All-Time vs. Arizona State
Stanford holds a 46-32 edge over Arizona State in the all-time series, which originated in 1957. The Cardinal, which has won eight of the last 10 overall, beat the Sun Devils twice last season, winning 76-70 at Maples Pavilion and 79-58 in the quarterfinals of the Pac-12 Tournament. Arizona State is looking for its first win on The Farm since Feb. 25, 2010.

Notable Career Totals Against Arizona State
In seven games, Chasson Randle is averaging 15.8 points while shooting 45.7 percent (38-83). Included in that mix was a 30-point effort (including 27 in a record-setting first half) in the 2012 Pac-12 Tournament. Also in seven games, Anthony Brown is averaging 8.8 points and 4.7 rebounds. In five appearances, Stefan Nastic is shooting 3-11 overall.

Back In the Top-25
Stanford checks in at No. 25 in this week’s USA Today Coaches poll and is receiving votes in the Associated Press poll, good for No. 30 overall. The Cardinal finished at No. 24 in the 2014 postseason edition of the USA Today Coaches poll after advancing to the NCAA Sweet 16. However, Stanford is making its first in-season appearance in either national poll since finishing the 2008 campaign ranked No. 10 (Associated Press) and No. 11 (USA Today Coaches).

Rare Late-Night Tip
Saturday represents Stanford’s second 9 p.m. tip of the season, including the season opener against Wofford on Nov. 14. The start time is the program’s latest at Maples Pavilion since Nov. 18, 1998, when the Cardinal also hosted SMU in a 9 p.m. start in the Preseason NIT.

Ability To Bounce Back
Stanford has displayed resiliency this season, having yet to lose back-to-back games. The Cardinal has won its last seven games following a loss, dating back to last season.

Davidson Added To Roster
Junior Nick Davidson (6-7, 288), who appeared in eight games this season as an offensive tackle with the football team, was added to the roster on Jan. 21 and active for Thursday’s game versus Arizona. Davidson is wearing uniform No. 42. Davidson becomes the first multi-sport athlete on the men’s basketball team since former quarterback and current quarterbacks/wide receiver coach Tavita Pritchard joined the Cardinal in late January 2010.
