LINCOLN, Neb. – The Stanford wrestling team dropped a 30-6 dual at 10th-ranked Nebraska, Friday, at the Devaney Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. The Cardinal drops to 11-3 overall, while the Huskers moved to 12-1.

Nebraska won eight of the 10 bouts, while celebrating Senior Night prior to the start of the dual. Senior James Green, ranked third nationally, put the Huskers on the board first with a 24-8 technical fall over Cardinal senior Josh Lauderdale at 157 pounds. Lauderdale, who was wrestling up a weight, drops to 5-9 on the year.

Redshirt sophomore Jim Wilson cut the Nebraska lead to 5-3 with a 6-3 decision over Austin Wilson at 165 pounds. With the score tied 3-3 heading into the final period, Wilson chose to start down. After a quick escape, he turned a late shot by Austin Wilson into a takedown of his own. The win improved Wilson, who is ranked 14th in the country, to 27-4 overall as he has won 19 of his last 20 matches.

Nebraska then won the next three matches to take an 18-3 advantage in the dual. Top-ranked Robert Kokesh recorded a 14-5 major decision over Cardinal redshirt freshman 174-pounder Keaton Subjeck. At 184 pounds, 14th-ranked TJ Dudley registered a fall in 5:58 over Ryan Davies for the Huskers. Stanford redshirt freshman Garet Krohn then dropped a close 4-2 decision to No. 14 Aaron Studebaker at 197 pounds.

At heavyweight, Stanford redshirt freshman Nathan Butler fell 7-3 to 17th-ranked Collin Jensen. After neither wrestler scored in the first period, Butler took a 2-0 in the second after Jensen was called for stalling before Butler earned an escape. However, a late takedown in the second for Jensen gave him the momentum heading into the third. There, Jensen registered a reversal and another takedown while accruing 1:37 of riding time. Butler falls to 26-7 overall.

The Huskers increased their lead to 24-3 as No. 12 Tim Lambert tallied a 3-1 decision over Evan Silver at 125 pounds. Tied 1-1 in the third period, Lambert defended a double-leg shot by Silver and turned it into a decisive takedown. Silver is now 13-8 overall.

Stanford redshirt freshman Connor Schram pulled out a 4-3 decision over Nebraska’s Eric Montoya at 133 pounds. Both wrestlers were warned for stalling in the first period. After Montoya scored an escape to start the second, both picked up a point for another double-stalling call. Schram evened up the match with an escape to start the third. He secured the win with a takedown with less than 15 seconds left in the bout. Schram improves to 17-1 overall and to 12-1 in duals.

Nebraska capped off the scoring as eighth-ranked Anthony Abidin turned in a 6-1 decision over Cardinal freshman Mason Pengilly at 141 pounds. Redshirt senior Garrent Schaner then dropped a 7-3 decision to Justin Arthur at 149 pounds.

Stanford will wrestle in its final dual of the season at South Dakota State on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 4:30 p.m. PT in Brookings, South Dakota.
