SAN JOSE DEL CABO, Mexico – Each of Stanford’s five student-athletes competing at the Querencia Cabo Collegiate finished in the top-25 Tuesday, with the Cardinal taking fifth overall.

The Cardinal (282-278-294) fell three spots from Monday’s finish and posted 2-over 854 throughout the course of the three-day, 54-hole event.

Florida State won the event at 13-under and Washington’s Cheng-Tsung Pan posted a 9-under for medalist honors.

“Overall, the scoring was tough today with the course playing very firm and the breeze challenging,” Knowles Family Director of Men’s Golf Conrad Ray said. “We got off to a bit of a slow start. There were a few big numbers this week which kept us finishing higher, but it is the first time I can think of in a long time that everyone was in the top-25. We are still getting better with every event, and this team, although young, is starting to figure things out.”

The Cardinal leaned on Viraat Badhwar and his eighth-place effort. Badhwar was atop the leaderboard heading into Tuesday’s action after rounds of 67-68. His final output produced a 4-over as the sophomore’s 75 moved him to 3-under overall.

Maverick McNealy was one of three Cardinal to post a 2-over 73 to finish the tournament. McNealy and Jeffrey tied for 20th overall at 3-over.

David Boote closed with a 5-over 76 and was 4-over for the event, tying for 25th along with teammate Franklin Huang. Huang was 2-over in his final 18 holes.

The Cardinal has a few weeks off before returning home to play host to The Goodwin (March 26-28).
