STANFORD, Calif. - No. 38 Stanford (6-4, 0-0 Pac-12) shifts its focus to individual play this weekend with an appearance at the 126th Pacific Coast Doubles tournament in La Jolla, Calif.

The Cardinal is represented with five pairings in the draw: Robert Stineman/Yale Goldberg, Nolan Paige/David Wilczynski, Trey Strobel/Anthony Tsodikov, Tom Fawcett/Maciek Romanowicz and Brandon Sutter/Roy Lederman.

Stanford boasts one ranked doubles team in No. 49 Fawcett/Romanowicz, as the tandem is 9-2 overall and 5-2 in duals.

The Pacific Coast Doubles tournament is the second-oldest tennis event in the United States. The event includes players from 19 schools, in addition to teaching professionals, juniors, college coaches, former tour players and independent entrants competing in the 128-team draw. Stanford has produced two of the last four champions, with Bradley Klahn and Ryan Thacher taking home the hardware in 2011 and 2012.

Stanford is coming off back-to-back losses during its Southern California road swing, falling 6-1 at No. 1 USC and 5-2 at No. 21 UCLA. The Cardinal had won five in a row prior to the road trip.

Fawcett, Stanford’s only ranked singles player at No. 28, leads the team at 18-6 overall and 6-2 in duals. Paige (17-9 overall, 6-3 duals) and Wilczynski (15-8 overall, 6-3 duals) are close behind.

After competing in this weekend’s tournament, Stanford is idle until hosting Nevada on Monday, March 23.
