LOS ANGELES – Elizabeth Price and Taylor Rice claimed individual event victories Saturday at No. 8 UCLA as the Cardinal fell to the Bruins 197.950-196.625.

Stanford (5-7-1, 3-5 Pac-12) delivered a consistent performance, scoring 49.075 or higher in each event and hitting 22-of-24 routines. Similar to what the Cardinal did earlier this week, UCLA (10-1, 7-1 Pac-12) sent its seniors out with a season-best performance to earn the victory.

Price continued to excel on vault, tying for the individual event win with a 9.950. She has won or claimed a share of the vault title in six-of-seven performances. Price has registered individual event victories in 10-of-12 performances this season.

Rice has provided consistency for the Cardinal throughout the season and continued her strong junior campaign with a first-place finish in the all-around with a 39.350. It is her fifth all-around victory and 11th win on the season.

Kristina Vaculik competed in the all-around for the first time this season and contributed scores in all four events. She performed her first floor routine this year and tied for fourth with a 9.900.

Stanford opened the night on bars with a 49.200 and was led by Samantha Shapiro who scored 9.875 to tie for second. Ivana Hong tied for sixth with a 9.850, while Nicolette McNair, Rice and Vaculik contributed scores of 9.825.

The Cardinal remained consistent on vault, hitting all six performances to score 49.150. Price led the team with a 9.950, followed by Nicolette McNair with a 9.825. Pauline Hanset and Rice earned scores of 9.800.

Stanford ran into some difficulties on floor with two gymnasts receiving minor deductions, but the Cardinal battled through to go 49.075. Vaculik led the way with a 9.900, followed by Rice (9.875) and Haley Spector (9.825).

Stanford closed the competition with a strong showing on floor, earning its second score of 49.200 on the night. Hong tied her career best of 9.925 to place third, while Rebecca Wing and Rice tied for fifth with scores of 9.850.

The Cardinal will have next weekend off before traveling to Salt Lake City, Utah, for the Pac-12 Championships.
