STANFORD, Calif. – No. 2 Stanford returns to action after a two-week break that included final exams as it pursues it fifth Mountain Pacific Sports Federation title Saturday at 4 p.m. (PT) in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The Cardinal (8-2, 4-1 MPSF) claimed MPSF championships in 1993, 1995, 2009 and 2011, and went on to win NCAA Championships in each of those seasons.

Stanford has been strong all season, spending every week ranked in the top-four in the country. The Cardinal has broken the 440-point mark in three of its past four meets and has finished first in each of the past four competitions.

Cardinal Update
Stanford concluded its regular season with two victories in three days, defeating No. 3 Illinois 440.300-420.400 and finishing first with a 425.800 at No. 17 UIC and Arizona State.

The Cardinal outscored Illinois in all six events, highlighted by a season-best performance on vault that produced a 74.900. Eight Stanford gymnasts combined for 14 top-three finishes.

Akash Modi claimed all three of Stanford’s individual event victories, placing first on floor (15.550), pommel horse (15.250) and parallel bars (15.500). He has earned 17 individual event victories against NCAA teams this season: all-around (4), parallel bars (4), floor (3), pommel horse (3), rings (2) and high bar (1).

Dennis Zaremski earned a pair of second-place results on rings (15.300) and parallel bars (14.750).

Robert Neff tallied a career best 15.100 on high bar to place second and added a third-place finish on vault with a career high 15.050.

Brian Knott continued his steady season, tying for third on parallel bars (14.800), pommel horse (14.650) and high bar (14.400).

Michael Levy scored a season-best 15.200 on floor to place third.

Stanford outscored UIC and Arizona State in all six events to pick up the first-place result in a meet that saw a variety of Cardinal gymnasts who typically have not been in lineups this year. Stanford opted to rest a good amount of lineup regulars and get additional gymnasts competition experience.

Levy picked up individual event wins on floor and rings with scores of 14.950.

Brandon Beckhardt contributed a season-best 14.200 on parallel bars to finish first.

Ryan Sheppard produced a career high 15.150 on high bar to earn Stanford’s fourth individual event victory of the competition.
