STANFORD, Calif. - Oregon and Washington are the opponents this week for Stanford tennis, with both Cardinal programs looking to build upon their recent success.

WOMEN’S TEAM
No. 10 Stanford (11-4, 4-2 Pac-12) returns to Taube Family Tennis Stadium this weekend, opening a four-match homestand. The Cardinal hosts No. 62 Oregon on Friday (1:30 p.m. PT) and No. 51 Washington on Saturday (12 p.m. PT).
Stanford will welcome the opportunity to remain on The Farm for back-to-back weekends after wrapping up its longest road stretch since 2012. The swing began with a winless trip to Southern California, but the Cardinal bounced back with a pair of 6-1 victories last weekend in the desert.
While the conference title might be a longshot, piling up victories will definitely help Stanford’s NCAA Tournament seeding. The Cardinal has been ranked as high as No. 7 and as low as No. 13.
Taylor Davidson and Caroline Doyle share the team lead with 23 overall victories. Toss in Carol Zhao’s 22-4 mark and the sophomore trio is 68-16 overall combined and 38-6 in duals. Davidson and Zhao have teamed up for a 23-5 record in doubles and the duo is ranked No. 2 in the country.

MEN’S TEAM
No. 38 Stanford (10-4, 2-0 Pac-12) just wrapped up its busiest stretch in recent memory, collecting four wins over a six-day span. That Cardinal’s season-high winning streak was five back in early February and there’s momentum again.
This weekend shapes up to be a solid test, with road matches at No. 51 Oregon on Friday (3 p.m. PT) and No. 59 Washington on Sunday (12 p.m. PT). It’s also the first time Stanford will take to the road in conference play. Get through this weekend unscathed, and the final five matches of the regular season are at Taube Family Tennis Stadium.
Stanford joins California, UCLA and USC among schools that have started conference play 2-0. The Cardinal’s highest ranking this season was when it opened at No. 31 in late January.
Rookie Tom Fawcett is enjoying an impressive debut season at 22-6 overall and 10-2 in duals. Nolan Paige is close behind at 20-10 overall and 9-4 in duals while David Wilczynski is 19-8 overall and 10-3 in duals. The Cardinal’s hottest player of late might be Robert Stineman, who has won six straight matches. In doubles, Fawcett and Maciek Romanowicz have paired up to notch a 13-3 overall record.
