Start line at last year's Stanford Invitational

STANFORD, Calif. – The No. 13 Stanford men’s rowing team will have nine races this weekend in their home regatta the Stanford Invitational.

On Saturday the Cardinal will go up against the No. 1 team in the country, the University of Washington. The varsity eights will battle it out at 9:10 a.m. in the second race of the regatta. The 2V8 will go at 9:50 a.m. and the 3V8 at 10:40 a.m. Last year the two schools raced in Seattle with the Huskies sweeping the Cardinal.

Following a lunch break, Stanford will be back out on the water at 2:20 p.m. on Saturday. The varsity eight will go up against their neighbor Santa Clara, while the 2V8 and 3V8 will square off with UC Davis at 2:50 p.m. and 3:20 p.m. respectively.

The racing will conclude on Sunday morning with Stanford taking on UC San Diego. The two schools will lead off the day at 9 a.m. with the varsity eights. The 2V8 will go at 9:40 a.m. and the 3V8 at 10:20 a.m.

Also competing in the Stanford Invitational will be No. 17 Oregon State, Orange Coast, University of San Diego and UC Irvine.

Stanford is coming off a dual loss to No. 8 Boston University last Friday. This will be the third weekend of racing in 2015 for the Cardinal as they opened the year at the San Diego Crew Classic March 28-29.
