NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – The sixth-ranked Stanford men’s volleyball team swept No. 12 CSUN, 25-19, 25-21, 25-17, Saturday, at The Matadome as it wrapped-up its four-match road swing in southern California.

The Cardinal hit .342 as a team while holding the Matadors to a .128 clip. Stanford held a 40-29 advantage in kills and a 9.0-7.0 edge in blocks.

Senior setter James Shaw controlled the offense with 34 assists, a season-best in a three-set match. Sophomore libero Evan Enriques anchored the defense with a team-high six digs.

Offensively, senior Madison Hayden hit .500, notching 10 kills on 16 swings with just two errors. Redshirt junior opposite Gabriel Vega paced the squad with 13 kills and three blocks, while freshman Jordan Ewert had seven kills hitting .357.

Stanford again was strong in the opening set, hitting .357 and holding CSUN to just six kills. The Cardinal has won the first set in all 10 matches this season.

Stanford’s middle blockers Conrad Kaminski and Kevin Rakestraw combined for eight kills and eight blocks.

CSUN was led in kills by Dimitar Kalchev, who finished with nine. Eric Chance was 6-0-8 (.750) and tallied three blocks for the Matadors, while CJ Suarez had a match-high seven digs.

Stanford returns to The Farm for its next four matches, starting Friday, Feb. 12 against No. 5 Hawai’i. First serve between the Cardinal and Rainbow Warriors is slated for 7 p.m. PT in Burnham Pavilion. Admission is free.
